The role:
The successful candidate will lead the commercial strategy across the Italian territory, managing and motivating a high-performing technical sales team. You will be fully responsible for achieving monthly and quarterly sales budgets, managing strategic Key Accounts, and developing long-term commercial relationships with international tier-1 represented suppliers.
Key responsibilities:
- Sales Leadership & SBU Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the technical sales team, enhancing their engineering backgrounds, personal skills, and solution-selling capabilities
- Optimize market and product segmentation throughout the national territory to maximize team performance and sales efficiency
- Design and execute comprehensive product and sales training programs for the entire sales staff to maintain a sharp competitive edge
- Commercial Strategy & Business Development
- Maximize SBU revenues by increasing lead conversion rates and driving sales growth across a diverse portfolio of international brands
- Personally manage Key Account Customers and spearhead the development of high-value, long-cycle projects
- Focus heavily on capturing opportunities within High-Rel applications (Defense, Space, Medical, and Transportation)
- Partner closely with the Marketing department to identify new opportunities through targeted campaigns, trade shows, and technical seminars
- Supplier Management & Executive Reporting
- Manage commercial relationships with represented international suppliers/principals in Italy; negotiate annual sales targets, drive joint marketing plans, streamline lead management, and organize strategic customer site visits
- Conduct monthly reviews of SBU sales numbers and performance reports directly with the Italian Managing Director.

Required specifications:
- Experience: Senior B2B solution/service sales and business development background within the electronics, optics, or high-tech components sector
- Technical Knowledge: Solid, specialized knowledge of Photonics & Imaging technologies is mandatory
- Leadership: Proven ability to manage, motivate, and upskill technical sales teams (experience managing technical sales engineers or technical specialists is highly valued)
- Track Record: Tangible history of driving top-line revenue growth, improving results month-by-month, and managing complex, long-cycle sales pipelines
- Supplier & Relationship Management: Proven experience interfacing with international principals/suppliers and managing high-level, multicultural business relationships
- Mindset: Proactive networker, flexible and broadminded with a disciplined "can-do" attitude, comfortable working in a matrix organization
- Languages: Fluency in English and Italian (both written and spoken) is essential for interacting with Group leadership and international partners.
